The Coelner Zimmer is an art gallery founded by Rainer Rehfeld in Düsseldorf. The focus of the exhibitions is on media art. Since its opening in 2011, the gallery has already staged around 40 solo and group exhibitions.
In addition to the presentation of established positions, a major concern of the gallery is the promotion and support of innovative and up-and-coming young artists in the fields of new media, installation, photography and video/computer art. Accordingly, the gallery cooperates with students of the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne and the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Furthermore, the gallery participates in annually recurring festival formats such as die Digitale; Duesseldorf Photo Weekend, etc.
The Coelner Zimmer welcomes written portfolio presentations from emerging artists with an academic background. The gallery is supported in the review process by the expertise of renowned art historians.
An international orientation is currently being developed and is envisaged for the year 2022/23.
