My work deals with image perception in the digital age. I am interested in image disturbances that provide information about the digital process of creation. My 'creative' work to prepare the templates is done on the computer, the craftsmanship is done with oil on canvas in the studio. The image shifts are created through the use of artificial intelligence - without any intervention by the artist. The digital becomes apparent in the image distortions. By translating the digital images into oil on canvas, the analogue and human aspect of the pictorial process becomes visible again. For me, oil painting is the most attractive form of simulation.
